KLA MISSIONS LOG: KL & BALI
DAY 1: PRAYER & PROPHECY
Acts 2:7 1 "In the last days, God says, 'I will pour out my Spirit upon all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy. Your young men will see visions, and your old men will dream dreams.'"
Acts 2:7 1 "In the last days, God says, 'I will pour out my Spirit upon all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy. Your young men will see visions, and your old men will dream dreams.'"
Testimony of prayer and prophesy: We were asked to pray, speak and prophecy for the person we were praying for. My partner was Claire Overbye from Perth - and I remembered the prayers were quite specific to the season I was and brought back to memory of what Dr. Mike prophesied over my life - especially the part of witnessing a breakthrough in my own families and being a torchlight to the people around me. When it was my turn to pray for her, I had a vision of her and kids, and a hunch that she was going to Cambodia. Later I found out she was indeed going to Cambodia and was serving in kids ministry!
Takeaways/Thoughts: The moment Ps Mark call us to pray and prophesy over the other person, i freaked out but also know that this is something that I need to learn how to overcome, and may I always remember to never discount what God can do through me. Sometimes I may think that I am imagining things and hence afraid to declare and pray for people, but it all boils down to fear. Always trust that it is the HS working and not me, and God can use me as much as I allow Him to. Even if it is not accurate, that is okay and the fear of being wronged should not stop me from doing God's work. This reminded me also of what it means to empower people - to allow and create the space for them to act on the Word.
DAY 2&3: MINISTRY WITH TIM-HALL
Romans 8:11 "The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, he will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you"
Romans 8:11 "The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, he will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you"
Takeaways/Thoughts: This session was SO empowering.
1. Never resist God & the works of the HS: when Ps Tim Hall called me out, I was like "shucks! again! jialat" in my head and I was trying to resist God in the spirit-to-spirit moment because I was afraid that I would not be able to handle God? i don't know if it even make sense but I know I was afraid what God was going to reveal to me because I remembered that my first vision of KLA was through a session with Ps Tim Hall. when I went down, I had to tell myself to just let God do what He want and just lie if I have to. Weighted down by his presence, I just rested at that moment. Felt like I was just sunbaking in His presence without having to do anything. 2. Release VS pulling down Heaven: I love when He said this because this made me re-think plenty of things. I do not need to call down heaven on earth, especially when it may after a while seems like begging God to do more when God has already done everything and that is the best for us, that is, sending His best - Christ - for us. Heaven is ALREADY here on earth - I need to know I have access to the HS and I don't have to beg or earn it.
3. Same spirit: everyone has the SAME spirit that is living inside of us. What Tim Hall did, I could too. I ask myself then what are some reasons that are possibly stopping me from doing that, and out of the 20,000 reasons - it definitely all boils down to fear - fear of what people think, fear of people thinking im crazy, fear later people arrest me, etc - i need to always remind myself that it is not about me and its about God and this life is really too short to care so much about what people will think or say to me - and to just declare always for boldness and faith to arise, trust that God got my back and I am not alone in this battle. This was more of a reminder and God can only work through me to the extent I allow Him to. Just a SR to live boldly because it is really not bout me.
4. What am I bringing to the battlefield: How important I realized after the mission trip to be so intentional about putting on the armour of God. I am not just going there for a mission trip like lalala, but I have a mission and that is to love on the people and share the gospel with them. The weight of the mission trip and what was about to unfold during the trip was a reminder that we are all going into a battlefield - that there will be spiritual battles and oppositions and how necessary it is to know what we are bringing into the battlefield - am i bringing my worries, anxieties, insecurities - or do I trust God enough with all of those while I choose to put on the armour of God and choose to burn away old garments that will hinder the battle? (food for thought).
DAY 4: FOCUS ON GOD, NOT ON THE MIRACLES
1 Cor 13:1-3 "If I could speak all the languages of earth and of angels, but didn't love others, I would only be a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. If I had the gift if prophecy, and if I understood all of God's secret plans and possessed all knowledge, and if I had such faith that I could move mountains, but didn't love others, I would be nothing If I gave everything I have to the poor and even sacrificed my body, I could boast about it;but if I didn't love others, I would have gained nothing."
Testimony of multiple healing: during our first house-visit, we realized that communication was a barrier between us but pressing in & thank God for team members who could speak Bahasa, they helped to translate. One lady actually shared that she had flu! We prayed for healing and she said she got healed! Her face was beamed with so much joy - and even though it was just flu, we know that she definitely felt love.
Takeaways/Thoughts - Daughter before anything else: Throughout the entire day, we were walking down the streets and visiting shops but most people that we met are okay and did not need any prayer. Was a bit discouraged and wondering what was happening, and I felt God impressed and reminding me of the verse above that was the main verse that carried me throughout the entire mission trip. While we came into Bali expectant and hungry to see the move of God so powerfully and having the faith to believe for miracles like, blind to see, lame to walk, deaf to hear - and even though none of that happened, it did not mean that I wasted my time or God was not present - and sometimes what I thought was what God wants may not be. It was a really a heart check moment for myself at the end of Day 1 and asking myself what exactly I came here for - was it just to see miracles and healing and will I be contended with just loving people even if I did not see a breakthrough? God was definitely dealing with stuff in my heart. Also, felt that the label of people attached to me and expectant of me to bring back crazy testimonies, I had allowed them to dictate what man say rather than what God said. I had to take off the labels and the cap I wore into the mission field and put on the cap (again): "I am a Daughter of Christ before I am anything else".

DAY 5: IN ALL THINGS, LOVE.
John 3:15 "Your love for one another will prove to the world that You are my disciples"
(above pictures were taken when we visited the next day - the joy though!!)
Testimony: before we head back, I looked at a house and saw a girl. i felt prompted to go into the house - and deliberated for a few seconds. my team members said, if you felt HS prompt you, then go for it. Im glad she told me that because we did - and we chatted with the girl and asked if anyone is in the house and shared that her mum was not feeling well. She led us to her mum who was having headache and pain (hence she was unable to work - bed bound). One of the team members was able to speak bahasa and another helped to intercede in prayers. Her mum got healed after the prayer!!! The next day when we went back, we could see how there was so much peace and joy in the house, and the mum looked WAY better than the day before. The kids were also smiling and joy was just written all over their face. We know that God definitely is with them but out of all things - they definitely felt love.
Takeaways/Thoughts - Don't try and be somebody else, be the person that God wants you to be: before the day begin, our team emphasized that maybe we should ask God for the word of knowledge, and I know how important it was and this was the vital key to actually minister to the local people. While true, I realize that I should not force out a gift that may not be meant for me but know and utilize what God has given me to its fullest. I do realize and know that my gift is definitely not the word of knowledge, and I do not have to force it out just because.... but also God is using my gift of discernment to actually lead people to a place where they too can operate their gifts - and altogether, that was God reminding me again and again how the body works - not one part is spared but all comes together to work all things good - and this is not a one-man show. it is not my miracle or her miracle or his miracle, but everyone is part of this miracle and I KNOW that I too am part of this miracle and what God has done. If i had not listened to HS and the nudge, we could have missed out on the very seed that God wants to plant in their lives.
Testimony: Saw my roomie sitting by herself at the pool, and I know that something was wrong even though she said she's okay - I stood behind her and started singing "dont let your heart be troubled" and did not know i was singing that behind her (i was just using my phone) until she told me how that lyric actually spoke to her at that moment. i thought this was really cool because i realized recently random worship songs come to my head and I will just sing it and declare it that will be very app. to my season!
DAY 6: UNITY - ONE BODY
1 Cor 12:1-18 "The human body has many parts, but the many parts make up one whole body. So it is with the body of Christ. Some of us are Jews, some are Gentiles, some are slaves, and some are free. But we have all been baptized into one body by one Spirit, and we all share the same Spirit. Yes, the body has many different parts, not just one part. If the foot says, “I am not a part of the body because I am not a hand,” that does not make it any less a part of the body. And if the ear says, “I am not part of the body because I am not an eye,” would that make it any less a part of the body? If the whole body were an eye, how would you hear? Or if your whole body were an ear, how would you smell anything? But our bodies have many parts, and God has put each part just where he wants it."
Testimony #1 of multiple healing & salvation: Our group split up into two groups and we happened to enter the same house - one from the back door and one from the front door. Inside the house there were more than four people and we just huddled around and asked what they were doing. Just so happen, we met the lady that Gay met the day before. Gay actually had a word of knowledge for this lady that she had pain in her body, but was not able to articulate to her because Gay didn't know bahasa. At that moment, it was true that the lady did experience pain in her shoulders! Afterwards, a few of our team members prayed for healing for this lady! I stood with a girl who looked about 8year-old-ish and tried to have small chats with her, and realized that she couldn't speak. Her voice and words are inaudible and what we could hear was literally "ke ke ke". At that moment, Joshua, one of our team member, came over and I asked him to ask the girl what happened to her voice (in bahasa). Dad came over and shared that she was naturally born this way and doctor said it is natural and there is no cure. Straight away few of us started praying for her and this child started declaring "Jesus christ healed me" in Bahasa, and at some point even shouted! Her dad looked at his daughter in awe and gave a really shocked face. Concurrently, mum was getting prayed for and was healed from her pain! God reminded at that moment that He is gonna use her to speak about His love to her generation because her voice is now restored and I encouraged her with that.1 Cor 12:1-18 "The human body has many parts, but the many parts make up one whole body.
Not only that, one of our team asked if they could cut off the bands on their hands that was represented as "bali pride" but also consist of an element of hinduism. The mum straight away went to find a scissors and cut off her band and her daughter's! After, both of them actually said the sinners prayers and accepted Jesus Christ into their lives!
Takeaways/Thoughts:- not me, but US: What I really learnt from this is how God is the orchestrator and we can trust that He orchestrates the best moments at the best timing. From not being able to minister to the lady the day before to leading our team into the same house was a reminder that I do not need to try and work things out on my own because He knows the best. At that moment when everyone was praying, I could just easily join them just because I wanted to be part of my miracle - had I let my desire of wanting to be boastful about what God has done so I could gain affirmation that I witnessed miracles and not stayed with the girl, I could have missed the miracle that God wanted me to witness personally. God reminded me that every single person is important and not one is being left out. He uses everyone in different ways but to its best. Throughout the entire trip He kept reminding me of how like our body consist of different body parts, yet they are not exclusive of one another but function together to make the entire body function at its optimal. We do not need to try and force out a miracle on our own but trust that He is using us in a way that will bring out the good in the entire body. When there is unity, God indeed commanded a blessing where we not only witnessed salvations, but also brought us closer as a team.
Testimony #2: I think this was the highlight for everybody. Previously, one of the member actually suggested that we should not visit the same house again but when one of the other members chose to say hi to this family that we met the day before, we met this lady (in turquoise). I looked at her legs straight and had hunch by HS that something in her physical body was amissed. Someone in our team managed to translate for us in bahasa and found out that she was experiencing pains in her shoulder, lower back and stomach. The moment our translator asked if she had any pain, she broke down and cried. Someone had a word of knowledge about her husband - and found out that her husband left her and her kid and she found it hard to forgive. All of us ministered differently to her - some reaffirmed her that she is loved, some walked through with her of dealing with the unforgiveness and released healing into her, some of us just remain just to hug her and make sure she is okay. At the end of all the prayers, she actually got healed and felt that her stomach was "light", shoulder pain gone and there was definitely light & color on her face!
Takeaways/Thoughts: when you truly surrender and let God do what He wants to do, breakthroughs happen. It was worth it. Was it a good mission trip? I would say yes - it was my first mission trip and all in all this was a very eye opening experience. There is not one big moment or one small moment but in the small..but every moment is worth documenting like just walking together is a lesson learnt itself - God spoke too. :-)
